Post-bariatric surgery, obesity surgery, circumferential dermolipectomy
Massive weight loss, often the result of a strict diet or bariatric surgery (gastric bypass, gastric band, gastroplasty) leaves significant excess of skin. When the abdominal skin is very stretched and damaged, an abdominoplasty is recommended. However, if the excess skin extends to the sides, back and buttocks, the skin must be removed circumferentially (all around the waist) to achieve a good result. This procedure, called body lift, is the only way to improve the abdomen, buttocks and the entire silhouette. The scar is located on the upper edge of a “string”.
